Terms & Conditions - Warranty and Faults - Questions & Answers.

At Mow-On, we are confident that you will be completely satisfied with our products, as we take great pride in sourcing established brands that offer cost-effective, high-quality maintenance solutions to assist all of our customer requirements.

We endeavour to make every customer experience a positive one; however, on occasions, things don't always go as planned and from time-to-time issues and problems can arise unexpectedly.

MowOn value's your custom and if you are not 100% are satisfied with your purchase, we will do what we can to put things right and as long as the product has been purchased in-store and is unused, in its original packaging and purchase condition, in this case, we will offer an exchange within 7 days of purchase. However, if any item or product, proves to suffer from a manufacturing defective re material and/or workmanship related during the warranty period, Mow-On has the right to examine the defective product and decide, at its sole discretion, if the defect is covered under warranty.  We will undertake this in accordance with the terms and conditions of use against the manufacturer specified guidelines. Subject to the investigation's/outcome, in conjunction with the manufacturer, MowOn will either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or comparable product, subject to the manufacturer agreeing and Mow-On's discretion on behalf of the manufacturer. Mow-On products are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for the time specified, at the time of purchase, as long as they have been used and maintained as per manufacturer recommendations.  MowOn recommends that all customers fully check that they are completely satisfied with the product/machine at the time of handover; either at the time of collection or delivery.

However, it is important to note that some machinery products and parts are not covered by the standard manufacturer’s warranty. For example, where the product or part has been purchased and fitted by the customer or third party, most manufacturers will only warranty the specified part if   it has been fitted by the authorised purchasing dealer and that the part, machine or item has been used for its intended and designed purpose, as per product specifications and purpose.  In situations where there is a difference of opinion, the matter will be fully investigated. This means that we will require the part, item or machine to be returned to Mow-On within an agreed time-frame, with the purchase receipt. If the alleged issue is deemed related to a manufacturing fault, this will be sent back to the manufacturer, as they will carry out their own tests and carry out investigations to ensure that the part, item or machine has been used and maintained in accordance with its intended purpose to ensure that it has not been misused. If the part has been sourced and fitted by Mow-On the part will need to be returned to us, the supplier so that we can fully inspect the item and decide on the course of action based on the evidence and we will refer the matter to our supplier.

Please note, normal wear and tear, damage due to misuse or excessive, abnormal use; alteration to the item, negligence or non-serviced machine by Mow-On within the designated warranty period are not covered under Mow-On’s Terms and Conditions or Manufacturer’s Warranty Policy.  Any items purchased from Mow-On must be inspected upon receipt by the customer and if any defects are found Mow-On must be notified immediately. The item must be returned unused and in its original state and a replacement or comparable will be issued in its place. Please note on the basis where items have been used within the manufacturer's specified guidelines, the product/item/machine will be returned to the manufacturer for investigations and they may ask Mow-On to act on their behalf. Depending on the manufacturer findings/ outcome,  if it is deemed their responsibility appropriate action will be taken; a repair, refund or replacement will be given. If they are not at fault, the customer may be charged for the time spent, or repair.  Normally the customer would be informed before so that they can decide on the course of action.

However, where the part, product or item has not been used appropriately, maintained or used in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines, then this product/item will not be covered by any warranty. Any defects reported after the manufacturer's specified warranty periods - hour usage/timeframe may not be considered as manufacturing issues/defects.

Any warranty will be classed as void if there have been any changes, modifications, or alterations/additions are made to the item, part or machine after purchase and/or if the item/product hs not been serviced/maintained as per manufacturer's recommendations.

To report the defect or fault and request a replacement in the first instance you need to contact Mow-On on 01803 315536. Our team will guide you accordingly with what you need to do. You will need to provide a brief outline of the issue and provide the invoice number, date and proof of purchase. In some circumstances, photographic evidence may be required. Please note that as long as the policy is followed appropriately, each situation will be investigated to try and resolve the matter as quickly as possible.

Question 1 - How long is an item, part or machines warranty?

Answer 1 - This depends on the brand and item purchased. Ask at time of purchase to ensure that it suits your requirements.

Question 2 - Am I the customer able to fit parts to my equipment/machinery and be covered by warranty?

Answer 2 - As the customer, you can purchase and fit parts to any of your machinery, but some manufacturers will not warranty the machine or parts, as they state that they need to be fitted by an authorised dealer to support their warranty policy.

Question 3 - If I purchase a new machine or item what are the warranty terms and conditions?

Answer 3 - This depends on the brand and model purchased. As a guide, your garden machinery normally needs to be serviced by the approved and authorised dealer yearly or if regularly used by hourly basis as per the manufacturer's guidance. This helps to ensure that machinery is looked after and maintained sufficiently to meet the warranty requirements.  In some cases where the machinery is used more frequently or beyond normal usage, you will need to consider more maintenance checks and this may require an additional service depending on the machine hours used in order to comply with the warranty and safe use guidelines.  Normal domestic usage is what is stated in the manufacturers guide for warranty time-frames. Professional use is normally 90 days, as long as it is used in accordance with the manufacturer's guidelines and has maintained appropriately according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
